Individual Therapy
Welcome! Individual therapy begins with us getting to know one another and developing trust and our own therapeutic connection. I ask a lot of questions to get to know you and your life experiences, and invite you to share as much or as little as you want. As you choose to share about yourself with me, not only am I getting to know you, but I am also assessing for attachment strengths, style, injuries, and needs (Attachment Theory).
After identifying therapy needs and goals, I introduce a variety of treatment modalities and techniques as we look for what fits you the best. These include Internal Family Systems (IFS)/ “parts work”, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), and traditional talk therapy. Regardless of the type of therapy we do, research shows the quality of the therapeutic relationship is the biggest predictor for successful outcome. Our therapeutic relationship matters, this in itself is part of the therapy process.
